Terms of Use
Last updated July 28, 2026
Welcome to Downstage. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
What Downstage is
Downstage is a community product for discovering live theatre, logging performances, writing reviews, and connecting with other theatre lovers. Features may change as we improve the product.
Your account
- You must provide accurate account information.
- You’re responsible for activity under your account.
- You’re responsible for keeping your password secure. Use password reset if you need to change it.
- You can delete your account anytime from Edit profile.
Your content
You keep ownership of the reviews, logs, and other content you post. You grant Downstage a license to host, display, and distribute that content as part of operating the service (for example showing reviews on a show page or in the feed).
Don’t post content that is illegal, harassing, spammy, or that infringes someone else’s rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Catalog and submissions
Show listings may come from us, from public sources, or from user submissions. User-submitted shows may stay private until verified. Catalog information can be incomplete or change; don’t rely on Downstage as an official ticketing or schedule source.
Acceptable use
- No scraping, automated abuse, or attempts to break security.
- No impersonation or misleading identity.
- No posting others’ personal information without permission.
Disclaimers
Downstage is provided “as is.” Theatre is live and schedules change; we don’t guarantee completeness of show data, availability, or uninterrupted service.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Downstage and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. It is part of how we operate under these Terms.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.
